Walberg Releases First TV Ad: Sharing Work to Improve Education and Job Training Opportunities

Jackson, MI- Congressman Tim Walberg released his first television ad of the 2014 campaign highlighting his work to improve education and job training opportunities. As a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, Tim was involved in passing through the House:
•    The Student Success Act, which would transfer power and resources from Washington DC education bureaucrats to local schools and states.  He believes teachers, administrators, and local school boards know best how to educate students, and Tim wants to empower parents.
•    The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, which will improve America's job training efforts by eliminating duplicative federal government programs and empowering local education and workforce development efforts.  This legislation was signed into law by the president.

“Education is very important and we want a better future for our children.  We live in a competitive global marketplace, so we need to prepare Michigan students so they can strive for the dreams, support their family with good jobs, and use their skills to help our community.  By transferring power from Washington DC bureaucrats to local schools and workforce development efforts, we are working to empower people in our community to help local students succeed,” said Tim Walberg.

“I worked in a steel mill to pay my way through college, so I appreciate both a quality manufacturing job and the value of education and training.  I want every student to have the opportunity to reach their potential and make their mom and dad proud,” added Tim Walberg.
