Decision to Vote in Favor of Obama-Pelosi Government Run
Health Care Plan
Tipton, MI- Mark Schauer today told the Jackson Citizen Patriot that he will vote in favor of the Democrats’ health care bill. Republican candidate and former Congressman Tim Walberg made the following statement:
“The citizens of south central Michigan clearly oppose this trillion dollar government takeover of health care that costs too much, raises taxes, and will reduce access to care for seniors. As I held health care town hall meetings last summer when Mark Schauer was hiding from his constituents, citizens voiced strong opposition to a government takeover of health care and support for common sense reforms such as ending lawsuit abuse, allowing people to purchase health insurance across state lines, empowering small businesses to join together to purchase health insurance at a more affordable price, and expanding the flexibility of Medical Savings. Mark Schauer’s votes for trillion dollar deficits, a government takeover of health care and a national energy tax demonstrates he is an ironfisted, big government liberal who takes orders from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and turns a deaf ear to the will of his constituents. The citizens of this district deserve much better. If this health care bill ultimately passes, I look forward to working next year to repeal it and advance common sense, patient-centered solutions that I sponsored in the last Congress to make health care more affordable and accessible.”
